            In response to 
            community inquiries and requests, Governor 
            Jennifer M. Granholm reiterated 
            her interest in the future of Highland Park, stating that she has 
            directed the Governor’s Office for Southeast Michigan to work with a 
            Steering Committee and the broader community to prioritize key 
            issues that are important to the future of Highland Park.

            15900 Woodward Avenue 
            to obtain community-wide input and suggestions/recommendations on 
            revitalizing the city. This dialogue will be open to the 
            
            
            
            Highland Park 
            public and will look at issues such as business and economic 
            development, education, positive youth development, 
            
            
            Highland Park’s 
            financial emergency status, challenges of local government 
            operations/city services, public safety, and historic preservation, 
            and revitalization of infrastructure. 
            
            The Highland 
            Park Steering Committee is working in conjunction with the 
            Governor’s Office for 
            
            Southeast Michigan 
            and 
            
            
            Wayne
            
            
            State
            
            
            University 
            to prepare a report for submission to the governor containing the 
            community’s priorities and recommendations for the city of
