We ought to have a block club. No one else is going to take care of our street, so we might as well. I'm going to see if I can get enough folks together to make it possible to get the ball rolling. |

Thank you for your thoughts as I too am in agreement. I live on Farrand Park and am a member of the Southeast Heights Association. I have been looking for a company to mow the lawn particularly the house on the corner of John R. If you are not apart of the Southeast Heights Association you should consider coming to the next meeting in August. I can keep you posted on the time, place and date. Please tell others. Regards, Tracie Armstead |

Hi Saffell, Great to hear from you. Yeah, I agree – snow removal would be a-ok! I notice that the Wensons on McLean have a plow. T’would do no harm to ask. As to the playground - I saw a huge group of good folk cleaning it up a couple of weeks ago. -S-

Don't quote me but I think the Southeast Heights covers from Tennyson to Buena Vista and from Woodward to Oakman. I have the exact streets at home and I will add more comments Thursday. I will keep you posted on the next meeting as well. |

I Stephen, I have the information regarding coverage of Southeast Heights. It is from Beresford (forgive the spelling) to Tennyson and from Woodward to Oakland. So that covers 11 streets and 22 blocks. I obtained this information from Mr. Earl Wheeler on McLean. |

Let's clean the park, Farrand Park. Has anyone looked at the alley lately? It's very scarey and a haven for rats and criminals. Let's all get together and do something about our properties. Thanks for listening. |

Hello neighbors, I too have a number of concerns since moving into HP over 2 yrs ago. I love it here and Farrand Park has proven to me that there can be a peaceful place to reside within the city's walls. However, we cannot ignore the painfully obvious. Does anyone know what is being done with regard to the homes listed to be demolished? That's a good start but what will happen to the land on which they sit? It is not enough to dispose of the eyesore if what is created is a vacancy with no plan for it's replacement or renewal. I have several friends who have so fallen in love with our street that they would love to move into this neighborhood. What incentives are available to make their search more worthwhile? I had heard rumor of missions to get homebuyers in this area but have yet to find any concrete resource. Lastly for now, what can be done about excess animals, overgrown yards where there are inhabitants who don't seem to care a great deal? When is the next meeting? Thanks |

I reside just down the street or around the corner from you. I have lived in the area going on 3 years now. My personal goal is to teach everyone about the benefits and neccessity of having life insurance and showing them ways to make that insurance work for them now, in the present. Why is it that many folks place more importance on having good car insurance than they do on insuring their own lives or loved ones? I pose three questions to you and if any raise concern for you and your family, please give me a call. 1. What preparations have you made towards retirement and will it be enough? 2. Have you made arrangements for final expenses? 3. What happens when you become sick but do not die? Please feel free to contact me anytime to schedule a face to face meeting to discuss your concerns and needs. I'm also available for Seminars at your church, job, social or fraternal gatherings. Knowledge is POWER! You can reach me at work at 734-525-3754 extension 202 during business hours or on my cell anytime at 248-202-0387.
