Playground Vandalism (See pictures)

I took my son to the playground at Buena Vista today and the sight was enough to break your heart. Only a few weeks after the playground had been spruced up, the vandals were at work. A child told me that the tree (fig.5) was vandalized by a young man minutes before I reached the playground.

It seems that the only way to prevent this kind of senseless destruction is to pay close attention to the playground. I have a suggestion:

  • Whenever drive by the playground, slow down. take a slow good look. Anything suspicious?
  • If you are at the playground and someone is in the process of perpetrating destruction don't just let it go.
  • If you hear of someone who has perpetrated these crimes rat them out.

Don't hesitate! The Wayne County Police mini-station is around the corner!
If you see someone vandalizing the playground:

Call 911

If you come across playground vandalism after the fact, make a report at the Mini-station and contact
