Highland Park Movement

This is a concern from a group of Highland Park citizens who asked the Highland Park Movement to represent them. They concern is why use Woodward Ave as a front for Highland Park? With this so-called blueprint plan this plan is to rebuild Woodward, and it was bought to our attention what about the run down neighborhoods? What about the trast, drug traffic, and crime in the communities of Highland Park? As a member and Activist in the Highland Park Movement Colition most of these questions is valid. The developers is currently building houses on the City's northeast section, and these homes are going for $140,000,which leaves a near low come families or individual, and the low come families and individuals who can not afford that kind of money unqualified.Highland Park is full of people who talk loud and be saying nothing. It's cold outside where is a warm in center? but we are planning on making Woodward the showcase of Highland Park, and with the soon new fire headquarters in Oakland Park,GOD willneed to watch over us all.To you HP Folks readers,I am sure you like to talk about everything to your family and friends.Well broadcast any information you see, hear,or read about that don't make senses.Let your voice be heard at the Highland Park City Council Meetings, which is held every third Monday of each month at 7pm in the Highland Park City Hall.Hope to see you there. " Peace " |

My My My Hats off to you Interested Neighborhood people. After returning home to Highland Park I see why the city is in the shape its in.Nobody is concerned about what's going on in the city, and the Community only cry for help when the problem hits the neighborhood.I am very very active with my group THE HIGHLAND PARK MOVEMENT,and we are not no where near associated with this website. As a matter of fact I believe I have met all eight of the community activists, and the rest is for rebuilding Woodward Avenue, and later for the neighborhoods.Block Clubs?? ummm a few weeks ago I overheard a statement from someone after a council meeting who said some block clubs must have their own little circle, and I wonder about that.Council meetings is held every third Monday (if Monday is a holiday) its held the next day Tuesday at 7pm in City Hall.Block Club groups and Community Activists need to join forces together to see that Highland Park will remain Highland Park, and not taken over by the state.Clean up the community, and Woodward will take care of itself. |

Woodward Heritage did sort of use Highland Park's history to gain status, then merged with Woodward Avenue Action. Going to Highland Park Council is the first step. Now, start calling Woodward Avenue Action! admin@woodwardavenue.org 248-288-2004
