Hi Jeff, I just remembered - I think they have an entire map of buildings slated to be torn down at DEVCO. You can access their site at: http://hpdevco.net |

As to code violations, I highly recommend getting in touch with someone through http://cityofhighlandpark.us If you do, please let me know if they don't do something about it. At that point we can try to canvas for some action. |

Hmmm - The more I think about it - I really like your idea of an Abandoned Buildings Hall of Shame. We can place it on a web page and make sure the search engines see it. Then, every time someone types in that persons name, up pops their dirty deeds. I love the web. |

highland park can generate a lot of money with code enforcement, not just with rentals make the home owners clean up there properties to......i think we are the only city that does not make owners/contractors pull permits to do roofing siding and windows. we miss out on not just money but making sure the work is done right. |

there is a rental on ferris about 140 ferris, looks like a dump from the outside, so you know the inside is hit, make them slumlords held accountable. |

Next time I see Harriet Saperstein of HPDEVCO, I'll ask her about giving public access to the blighted houses data. I know they have an extensive up-to-date database, and there has been talk in the past about making it accessible. As with most things here in HP, you've got to ride it if you want something. |

Hey Jeff, Mrs. Dobbson is still working for the city? I thought she retired years ago. |
